I would like to thank all the ELKS for pulling and saving aluminum can “Tabs” for the Ronald McDonald House. This past year we have been able to turn in approximately 450,000 “tabs” from the Needles Elks.
Ronald McDonald House collects “Tabs” instead of the entire aluminum cans because the “Tabs” are pure high quality aluminum, unlike cans which consist of aluminum and other alloys. “Tabs” are also easier to store.
The reason for the Ronald McDonald House is that many families have to travel a great distance from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children,. The treatment might last a day, month or even longer. Families are stronger when they are able to stay together at a Ronald McDonald House.
Ronald McDonald Houses around the world offer families a way to stay together, in close proximity to the treatment hospital and be comfortable and cared for during their stay.
At every Ronald McDonald House families can enjoy home cooked meals, private bedrooms and play rooms for the children. In return the families stay at no cost or asked to make a donation up to $25.00 a day, depending on the House. The Ronald McDonald House Global Charities policy is that families are never turned away, if it is not possible to pay, the fee is waived.
Again, let me thank each of you for your support in this endeavor: helping the Ronald McDonald House continues helping families of ill children.
Keep on Pulling Tabs!
